Blog Post 4: Further Research

In this 4th blog post I will be mentioning some other facts I found in search of the answer to my question. Through research, I found that just a lack of exercise can lead to heart disease (Lack). The fact that just not exercising can cause heart disease truly showcases the importance of consistent physical activity. If exercise can prevent a lethal condition, I feel that everyone should exercise from time to time at the very least. However, only 1/4 of adults and 1/5 of high school students are doing the recommended amount of exercise (Lack). The fact that only 20% of high school students are exercising enough is pretty bad, as its increasing risk of diseases and overall not improving their health at all. Same goes for adults, as older adults can be more susceptible to diseases like heart disease. Another thing I found is that smoking and stress can hinder heart health over time (Shannon). Both of these things have an impact on overall health, and the same goes for heart health. Smoking greatly increases the risk of developing heart disease, and stress can raise blood pressure (Shannon). Stress may not be completely avoidable, but smoking can be avoided. Also, overall exercise can lower blood pressure, which is good for the heart and it’s health, as if blood pressure raises, the risk of heart disease increases heavily (7 heart). I have found and mentioned so many benefits to exercising, just proving the necessary of exercise in order to live a healthy lifestyle. Overall, more people should exercise, as there is an overwhelming amount of positives for consistent exercise.
